Oftentimes, the filing of a bankruptcy and the timing of that filing can be critical as to whether you are allowed to retain, keep, certain property or are required to turn that property over to the bankruptcy trustee. This might have to do with money in a bank account, money that’s coming back to you because of a tax return filing, a vehicle that you own.
